Question x-plan pricing

Forgive my naive question but what must someone do, be related to or, employed by to qualify for X-plan pricing. Man I'd hate to be elligble because my 3rd cousin twice removed ex-vet's friend's fiance works for Ford and I could get the discount.

Thx

Jim

Neither of my parents work for Ford or anything of the sort. They got the X-plan yesterday for their new '03 F150 XLT. SO that's about as much as I know.

"X" plan pricing is also known as "Friend & Neighbors". All Ford Motor Co. employees have six of these "plans" to use per year for just that: Friends and neighbors. As a dealer employee I do not have this plan, only "D" plan for my family members.

vader716, I don't know who you work for. But if you work for a large company, it may allow you to participate in the XPlan through Ford's Preferred Partner program.

X Plan

If you're lucky, you get the A Plan. Think of this as family (Ford employees). X Plan, as someone said, is friends and neighbors.

For example: XLT Lariat FX4 Super Crew 2003-
MSRP 34635
X Plan 30552
A Plan 29233

I personally work for Shell Oil, who buys their fleet trucks from Ford (hence our discount). However, when you deal with the internet dealers, they will generally cut your price down fairly close to X Plan if you know they deal in VOLUME, not PROFIT. Internet reps are usually also the fleet (corporate sales) reps. Just go in knowing that and the dealer invoice, hold back, etc. (all of which may be found on the net).

one thing to remember about x-plan...it is possible to get a vehicle for better than x-plan pricing...i posted a little while ago about carmax here in milwaukee...they have several 04's that they are selling for below invoice price...x plan on these would be just over invoice if i am not mistaken

go to www.carmax.com and look in the milwaukee one's stock...i think they have 3 XLT's...i have mixed opinions of carmax so i am not sure if i would recommend buying from them....also do not know if this is true but i thought i read somewhere that they can order new vehicles like other dealers for customers so if they do not have what you want on site, you can still get it....maybe they trade with other dealers in the area?

edit-FYI just checked...the milwaukee area carmax kenosha location has 2 04 XL's, 3 04 supercab XLT's, 1 04 XLT supercrew, and 1 supercab Lariat...even the lariat is about $300 UNDER invoice...$4447 under MSRP

edit again-just looked at the XLT supercrew...i might be mistaken but i think its actually a lariat

Didn't see anything I liked at Carmax, so I wound up buying locally. I just checked again, they list Chevy's as possible alternatives. HA, Chevy's aren't an 'alternative' to Ford.
With respect to X Plan pricing, I got it due to a brother that works for one of their suppliers. I did have to put a deposit down pending getting the pin. It seems the dealer gets about $600 back for each X Plan vehicle they sell, so don't hesitate to ask them to share that with you. I'm not sure if that's a percentage of sale price based rebate, or a flat fee per vehicle.

I have financed through Ford Credit in the past.

Now all they will offer me is the Cash Only Plan.

X-plan

I work for a tier 1 supplier for Ford, TRW to be specific and I get the X plan cost of a vehicle, the only person who gets a better deal is an actual ford employee.

X Plan Pricing

Pricing

The Partner Recognition Program offers substantial savings on most Ford Motor Company vehicles. Partner pricing varies by brand, as follows:

X-Plan Pre-determined price based on Ford Employee ("A-Plan") price.
The X-Plan price is noted on the dealer invoice (except for
Land Rover and Jaguar)

Ford/Mercury A-Plan + 4% + $150

A partner code is needed to enter the site.

Ford Partners

Hope this helps.
