Edge Level 2 Vibration

Well got me any edge which i love but just like before i will be going in overdrive about 55 mph and barely get in the gas I get this bad vibration through the gas pedal. take edge out wont do it. I havent tried it on level 3 since I dont run high octane yet. What is causing this?

In the past there was torque converter shutter issues from what I have read. Mine did it on all three levels. Didn't matter what I did, updates, fluid flush, etc. Still a shutter at 55mph. I had to get rid of it.

When was the last time you updated?

Maybe you should call Edge, or better yet Bill at PHP.

I had an Edge level 3 shudder form the longest, forced to run level 2, then Bill (PHP) sent some updates to Edge and Edge put them out, solving the shudder issue once and for all.

Custom tunes from PHP solves problematic edge drive-ability issues. I have PHP 87 perf and 93 perf tune. Both are awesome.

I'd still call edge or PHP if I were you and discuss.

I've never had the "shudder" and have had mine since 3-07. The only thing I've had comparable is the trans seems to be confused between 45-50. It's like I feel the TC locking/unlocking.

I believe that's what everyone describes as the shudder, t/c locking/unlocking.

Really?....Well my truck is programmed to stock since I've replaced the trans. I've got 300miles on the replacement and it's still doing the same thing. I just went to murray's and picked up some "Dr. Trans shudder stop" and put it in. I'm going to drop the pan and change the filter once I've got 1,000 on the "new" trans

Yeah, it was the t/c unlocking/locking really fast causing the shudder in my situation. Once the update was uploaded to my edge the shudder stopped.

is the tc unlocking/locking causing the vib in gas pedal? I cant stand it. I put it back to stock and it goes away.

HiVoltage - I have nearly the same truck as you, I think, and, I started out with an Edge - using the Level 2 tune. I vaguely remember some small problem that was solved with what was then a "beta" firmware upgrade.

I think you should call Edge Tech Support and tell them what is going on. They've been very helpful to other members.

Jack,

is firming up the shifts +12 +12 +9 going to help his problem?? And possibly modifying the RPM Shift Points??

I kind of doubt it, but it won't hurt to try. The "shift firmness" modifies the time delay between clutch release and lockup during actual shifts, and doesn't have any effect on the Torque Converter (TC) lock/unlock. You CAN play with the part throttle TC lock/unlock though and that may help. You can move it either way, to sooner or later. I'd try both and see what happens.

I don't see how changing the part throttle shift points would help, but again, it won't hurt to try this.

Do one thing at a time though, so you can see the effect of each without interaction.
