4 Pound Pulley Question??

OK...I currently have JDM's Stage 1 Performance Kit. (Flip Chip, Cold Air, Line Mod Valve, Tranny Pan, Oil Breather, Boost Bypass) I also have a Borla Exhaust.

I just got in a 4 pound pulley and TR'6 Plugs. I sent my chip of for reburn and it came back yesterday. So I plan to install the pulley and plugs this wk-end.

How much of a power gain will the pulley give me? Is it a big noticeable difference? I hope so, I have heard its a great mod. Also, How much Et should this take off my 1/4 times? Give me your input on this. Thanks!

Siver, do you know what your 1/4 times are with your current mods and when it was stock? I think it's time for me to start with the mods on my truck. Just want to know how much stage 1 helped. Thanks!

1/4 mile times

No, I do not have a track near where I live therefore I cant go. I can tell you that the Stage 1 Kit made a very big difference and I would recomend it.

I was just curious here to know how much differnce the 4lb pulley makes and how much it helped others in there 1/4 mile times.

Hello Silver 2002 :

I have the exact mods that you are referring to minus the exhaust.
I can't give you a comparison from Stage1 to 4# + plugs as I did all the mods at once, but I can give you some numbers with all these mods on the truck.
Recent dyno session numbers were 392rwhp, 479rwtq
1/4 mile times... best so far was 13.211@107.86 mph.
This 1/4 mile time was done in extremely hot weather, so I fully expect to hit the 12's when running on a nice cool October day.
I also intend, in the very near future to do some traction modifications as I am sure you will find serious traction issues once you install the 4#er.
Hope this helps a little.

Have a great day eh ! ......... Dave

Send that pulley back and get the 6 pounder! I first did a 2# and was not very impressed. JDM slapped on the 6# at WFC and it made an incredible difference.

BTW I got a little under 19 mpg on the drive home.

Have fun with the install this weekend.

You will feel a pretty nice difference. #1, you will hear a lot more whine from your SC'er! #2, you will feel an incredible SOTP difference. Thats about 25-30 extra HP your adding to the truck!

I really cannot tell you the difference between stock and a 4#'er, but when I went from a 2 lb to a 4 lb. I ran a consistent .2-.3 quicker and 2-3 mph faster in the 1/4 with the 4 lb as compared to the 2 lb pulley. With some sticky tires and good weather, you will be well in the 12s.

Silver 2002:

With a chip and filter I ran consistant 13.3-13.5s. I added the 4# pulley and denso plugs and ran consistant 12.8s - 12.9s. Made a HUGE difference.
