Smile 2003 Cobra Dyno test.

I dyno tested my new "03" Cobra tonight bone stock with just 174 miles on it. I wanted to lay down my base line so that I can gage my modifications. I know that the mileage is low and it should get a little better with additional miles but here are the results. 385.2 HP 377.1 torque. Yes the time on the dyno sheet is correct we did it at 9:00 PM this evening.

Cool

HI!... UNDER RATED is right!!! That's what I've been telling some of you guys for over 2 months now. A buddy of mine that works at the FORD ENGINE plant here in WINDSOR saw a dyno sheet for a "2003" 4.6, 4-valve, SC engine. The ROMEO plant sent one over here to have some dyno runs done on it. The dyno run was done with all accesories and stock COBRA exhaust system installed. It made 441H.P at the flywheel. I was told with the right aftermarket exhaust system, chip, and air induction kit it will make close to 500H.P at the flywheel. Thise COBRA's are going to be a handful at the least.

There have been some lean years and good years; this is turning out to be a good year for the Cobra. Give it up for Ford/Roush!

You're right Neal. With a little bit of work these cars will be over 400 HP with ease. I have been designing parts for this since February and within the next week I will be over 400 HP. This is just too much fun.

If you read in the new MM&FF about the 03' vs. the 35th anniversary Camaro, John Colleti said due to all the emission laws "its breathing thru a straw" ,and he was also quoted about how SVT rates the 03' as 390 hp but it dynos at 381 was because "it has a very efficient drive train" ,oh the thats right! lol i think its awesome that they underate rather than overrate there vehicles. Now we just need to wait for some high flow exhaust and intakes!

Dyno joint

Where did you get your vehicle dyno'ed at? I can't make out the phone number. I would like a baseline dyno for my car as well and need a dyno shop in the area.

I also notice the pic was taken in front of Regent Court..You work there?
