Talking Final Ford GT HP Numbers!

OK, I haven't seen anybody post this yet so I thought I would.

Ford has anounced the offical numbers for the GT to be 550 hp @ 6500 rpm and 500 lb.-ft @ 3,750 rpm. Thats up from the 500 HP Ford kept saying because their now using a twin screw s/c.

Now recently I came across something interesting about the GT.

Clicky

Now, I know Ford tends to underrate their stuff lately but DAMN, if thats true then thats some serious underrating.

All I have to say is...

What does everybody else think?

Thats a TON of power for that car!!!

I wonder though, why they stayed with the undersquare truck cylinder dimensions for an exotic car.

Seems like they could have at least gone with the new "cammer" 5.0L cylinder/block design to be closer to sqaure on thier way to 5.4L. Probably could have picked up another 50hp this route... not that another 50hp on a car they can't even dyno is needed
