Fuel Pumps

I have a 1993 5.0 liter motor with fuel injection. I also have two fuel tanks. When running, does the fuel pump run all the time? My pump in my first tank is very noisey and I can hear it when I am idling or sitting still. When I switch tanks, the noise goes away.

Any comments????

Thanks,

Lee

Thanks,

The pumps get power in the start mode and while it's running. Runs all the time.
Sounds like you have a pump on it's way out.
Does your truck have in-tank pumps only, or a frame mounted pump as well?

In my 1993 F-150 truck, where are the fuel pumps located - in the gas tanks????

Yes, and I checked earlier about your truck having an additional frame mounted pump. None listed, so just tank pumps in yours.
