0-60 Run in a 2017 F-250 Super Duty: How Fast is the New Diesel?

The new 2017 F-250 Super Duty is no doubt an impressive truck. Better in every way than its predecessor, the new rig is also available with one heck of a diesel engine. The 6.7-liter Power Stroke produces 440 horsepower and a whopping 925 lb-ft of torque, making it a serious towing rig.

Towing big loads is great and all, but the real question is: how fast does this monster of an engine make a new F-250?  It’s a question that needs to be answered, preferably with some real-world testing. Luckily, in the video below we have at least one good Samaritan that has stepped up to the plate to quench our thirst for knowledge.

With less than 100 miles on the clock, this 2017 F-250 is about as new as it gets. Equipped with a 3.55 rear end, it also isn’t the lowest geared Super Duty you can buy. Regardless, it rips off a 7-second 0-60 time without breaking a sweat.

Perhaps the most impressive thing is how smoothly the truck shifts through the run, and the tach stays planted around 3,000 rpm the entire time. There’s no doubt that under optimum conditions, the truck can easily put down a faster time. And surely, it won’t be long before somebody tries.
