You won’t find any flashy mods or outlandish custom touches on this 1966 Ford F-100. Because it doesn’t need them.

In a lot of ways, the custom truck world can be a little over the top. From the wild and crazy customs we see at shows like SEMA to the look-at-me lowriders and lifted trucks populating the streets, excess is certainly in style. But when it comes to vintage beauties like this 1966 Ford F-100, less is certainly more. And this particular example that we spotted over at The Collector Car Network is concrete proof of that.

Just take one look at the outside, for starters. You won’t find flames or pinstriping, nor newfangled neon colors. Just a simple yet beautiful Autumn Maple and white two-tone. The paint treatment perfectly highlights the gorgeous lines of the 1966 Ford F-100, which are among the prettiest to ever grace a pickup. The owner did eschew white walls and hubcaps in favor of some ’90s vintage F-150 wheels and Firestone tires. But they’re certainly nothing offensive.

Powering this powder puff is the original 352 cubic-inch V8, which breathes easily through dual exhaust. And the F-100 promises to drive easy as well, thanks to an automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes. Air conditioning keeps the cabin nice and cool, while upgraded shoulder belts keep driver and passenger safely in place.

In a world obsessed with excess, this 1966 Ford F-100 is quite the opposite. Nearly 100% original, it’s proof that Ford got things right the first time around. Sure, you can smooth out the body, install a modern chassis and drivetrain, or even paint the chrome. But this truck is proof that you don’t need to go to all that trouble if you just want a beautiful, reliable, and faithful old classic.
