A 600 HP Hennessey 6×6 Ford Raptor? Holy Sh*t!
Yes, you read that right. A 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor with 6 wheels. If it sounds totally crazy it’s because it is, but that’s exactly the kind of cars and trucks Hennessey loves to build.
Baptized as the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6, these images were released by the Texas tuning house today, and it’s needless to say that we’re pretty darn excited. Not only do we look forward to the launch of the “normal” Ford F-150 Raptor, but now we get to await a monster-truck version of it.
Besides adding another axle, stretching the thing, and lifting it up to the sky, the VelociRaptor 6×6 will get bigger twin-turbos for the 3.5 liter EcoBoost engine, which Hennessey says will pump out about 600 horsepower total. Locking rear axles, upgraded Baja-spec Fox suspension, special 20-inch wheels, meaty off-road tires, heavy-duty front and rear bumpers, a new roll bar, and LED light bars are some of the additional parts fitted to the VelociRaptor.
It seems that the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6’s popularity has grown to a point that others will be chasing similar concepts. While Hennessey’s monstrosity will cost around $258,000 dollars and not a million bucks like the Benz, it’s still uncertain how many they can build and deliver on a timely manner. They aren’t necessarily known for being efficient, you know?
