AmericanTrucks Awards Positive Payload Grant to Bike & Build

You probably know AmericanTrucks more for their Ford truck parts, but they also love giving back to communities all across the United States.

Do you remember the moment you fell in love with your first truck (or first car)? Maybe it was your grandfather tinkering in the garage on the weekend. Or a drag race. Or just something beautiful and shiny rolling down the road. Whatever it was, it was in that moment you became not just a fan and a future owner, but a member of a community. Of a family. And, in that sense, when you look at a company like AmericanTrucks — who is, full disclosure, an F150Online sponsor — you aren’t just seeing a business that sells cool truck parts…

You’re looking at a company that believes in the people who love their trucks. That believes in giving back. And helping out those who strive to improve this little experiment we like to call the United States of America.

You may already know that AmericanTrucks does Make-A-Wish builds as well as offers two annual automotive-related scholarships. But have you heard of their Positive Payload (PP) grant program? PP supports “non-profits who use and rely on pickup trucks to benefit the community.” Fun, right? And the program’s donated almost $54,000 to U.S.-based charities since its 2017 inception. Each year, Positive Payload accepts applications for $200 grants. Then, at the end of each year, one of the previous $200 winners receives a $2,000 year-end grant award.

For 2020, the $2,000 grant winner is a housing-focused charity called Bike & Build. Founded in 2003, Bike & Build helps cyclists raise awareness for affordable housing. “To date, over 3,800 riders have pedaled more than 11 million miles spending 255,000+ hours of their time helping on affordable housing builds with local affiliates.” Which just sounds amazing.
