What do You Call the Ultimate Super Duty? The “Ultimate Super Dirty”
For this year’s 4-Wheel & Off-Road Ultimate Adventure week, the publication has built the ultimate off-road F-Series Super Duty pickup.
The Blank Canvas: A Ford F-250 Super Duty Regular Cab Long Bed equipped with a TorqShift six-speed automatic transmission and a 6.7L Power Stroke diesel V8 producing 400 horsepower at 2,800 rpm and 800 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 rpm.
Because Ford doesn’t offer a regular-cab F-250 with a short bed, Petersen’s 4-Wheel & Off-Road contracted Shaffer’s Offroad in Alameda, California to cut 16 inches from the F-250’s frame between the cab and the rear axle. A couple of cuts, and voilà, a short-bed, regular-cab Super Duty. 4-Wheel & Off-Road calls it the “Ultimate Super Dirty”. Clever.
And that’s just where the mods begin. Check out how far they take this ¾-ton Ford in the video below.
