2011-2016 Ford F-150 Ecoboost BorgWarner Airwerks Turbo Upgrade

Easy bolt-on turbo upgrade adds 85 hp to your 2011-2016 3.5-liter Ecoboost F-150 while retaining stock driveability.

Say what you want about how great V8s are and how there’s no replacement for displacement. Because these days, there actually is. It’s called forced induction, of course. Superchargers and turbos are the smart choice for those who want to add serious horsepower to any engine. Ford obviously knows this, which is why they developed their wildly popular Ecoboost lineup of engines in the first place. And now, BorgWarner has a new bolt-on turbo upgrade for owners looking to extract even more juice from their 2011-2016 3.5-liter equipped F-150.

The legendary turbo maker introduced their latest huffer, dubbed AirWerks, at this year’s SEMA show. And unlike a lot of other forced induction options in the aftermarket, this one’s designed to be a simple bolt-on. That means you can install it with basic tools, and minimal changes are required to get it up and running. Despite this, BorgWarner says that it’ll add a whopping 85 horsepower to your F-150. All while retaining factory driveability, thanks to compressor stages and temperature-resistant materials that keep things cool and responsive.

“Our extensive experience in designing aftermarket turbochargers that deliver the ultimate performance uniquely positions us to expertly boost Ford F-150 trucks,” said Michael Boe, Vice President and General Manager, Global Aftermarket, BorgWarner Turbo Systems. “We are always on the lookout for opportunities to provide enthusiasts with options to take their vehicle performance to the next level. With our new turbocharger offering, we recognized the need for a bolt-on solution that supports more power. By combining power and convenience, our AirWerks upgrade turbocharger for Ford’s 3.5-liter engine is truly the optimal solution to gain the results aftermarket customers crave.”

Of course, Borg Warner also has other turbo upgrades available for those seeking maximum power for their F-150. Their EFR super-core lineup utilizes massive compressor inducer wheel diameters to maximize air flow and deliver up to 200 more horsepower over stock. And their big dog AirWerks S300SX-E 72 turbo is capable of delivering up to a whopping 1,100 horsepower. If that isn’t enough to convert even the staunchest V8 supporter, we don’t know what will.
