Ford was in court concerning claims that the restraint system in the F-150 was defective. Ford was found not culpable, but their case was interesting regardless. The crash victims originally said that the F-150 brakes were defective and that the F-150 should’ve come with inflatable seat belts and other safety features.
Ultimately, Ford was exonerated of fault due to the fact that the guy who crashed the truck was doing twice the speed limit. Essentially, the truck complied with safety regs. The passenger suffered a fractured rib, while the driver fractured his ribs, back and neck. Yikes.
I guess the takeaway is just to be safe out there, and don’t do double the speed limit on off ramps.
