Ford F-150 King Ranch Leaves ‘Non-Truck Guy’ in Awe

2019 Ford F-150

If the new F-150 can impress somebody that doesn’t even like trucks, you know that it’s one heck of a vehicle.

For those of us that have been driving Ford trucks our entire lives, it’s easy to take them for granted. But we also must remember that there are people who don’t necessarily know how fantastic they are. It may also come as a surprise to these folks to learn that the Ford F-150 isn’t just a truck. They’re all around great vehicles that’re good at pretty much everything.

That fact seems to have eluded a reporter who recently reviewed a new King Ranch F-150 for the Canada Free Press. Until now, anyway. “I’m no truck guy and would never buy a pickup truck,” he said. But he couldn’t help but be surprised by the reactions he received driving around in his shiny new pickup. He “garnered ooh’s and ahh’s from a variety of ages and, it appeared, demographic and economic groups. Truck folks, it seems, like the King Ranch. Maybe it’s just Ford trucks that inspire this lust. Beats me.”

Our reviewer went on to rave about the F-150 King Ranch’s content per dollar ratio. “The truck is comfortable, and luxurious, and equipped very well. Offering just about everything one could want in a modern vehicle as far as technology and toys are concerned.” He was also quite pleased with the interior. “The seats are very nice, comfortable and supportive,” he said. “The center stack LCD screen is one of the best. Heck, I’d rather use Sync in an F-150 than a trackpad in a Lexus or one of those knob-based interfaces. Well done, Ford!”

This “non-truck guy” also found the truck’s 5.0-liter Coyote V8 to be plenty powerful. “It should be enough for all but those who want to pull their houses off their foundations,” a feat he didn’t actually attempt. Coupled with niceties including a full array of safety features and trailer backup assist, and the King Ranch packs more content than most vehicles on the road. Truck or not.

Overall, our reviewer came away very impressed with his time in the F-150. “The Ford F-150 King Ranch is an awesome truck and I can see why people get off on it,” he concluded. And if that isn’t high praise from somebody that admits they’d never even consider buying a truck, we don’t know what is.
