Ford F-250 Shows Off a Wicked Custom Suspension Setup

High Riding Ford F-250

You could drive a small car through the wheelbase of this Ford F-250.

The Ford F-250 in the image above is from the latest video from the Salinas Photography YouTube channel and it showcases an incredible suspension setup for the modern Super Duty. If you are going to build a big Ford truck that will go anywhere, this F-250 could serve as an excellent example of how far you can go. At the same time, we would guess that this is a show truck, not an off-road machine.

Aggressive Exterior

While the most important custom components of this truck are underneath the body, the owner has gone to great lengths to give this Ford F-250 a unique look. That starts up front with an aftermarket grille that replaced the Ford blue oval with the words “Like a Boss”, while a Fusion bumper gives the truck a very rugged face, complete with a spread of LED lights from side to side. Up front, there is also a new set of headlights with LED trim that glows red rather than white.

Out back, the taillights have been painted black and the stock rear bumper has been replaced with another aftermarket piece from Fusion with integrated LED lighting. From the rear, we can also see the custom rear differential cover and a painted trailer hitch receiver.

That Beautiful Suspension

From the side of this Ford F-250 we can see the star of the show which is, of course, the elaborate suspension setup. This truck massive custom wheels wrapped in low profile rubber, but those big rollers fit because of the custom suspension setup. This F-250 features a multi-damper unit with remote reservoirs in the front and rear. Everything is either powder coated red or chromed, so not only is it an impressive suspension setup due to the scope of the system, but it also looks incredible with the red-and-chrome layout.

Of course, with all of that spotless chrome, we would guess that the owner doesn’t take this truck off-roading very often, but it probably does very well at car shows. Check out the full clip of this awesome build on Salinas Photography’s Youtube page.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
