Ford Just Made the F-Series the Official Trucks of the NFL

The NFL is America’s game. The Ford F-150 is America’s truck. The NFL is all about toughness. Ford’s most well-known truck slogan is “Built Ford Tough.” NFL players are tireless workers, and F-Series trucks will work tirelessly for you. It’s surprising it took so long for these two to link up, but starting this season, Ford’s F-Series trucks are the official trucks of the National Football League.

Ford was lucky enough to be able to snag the sponsorship after Hyundai locked up being the car of the NFL with a massive $50 million deal. Hyundai doesn’t have a truck, though (at least not yet), so the contracts worked out to leave this opening.

“Just like our fans and players, Ford trucks and the NFL are always working to reach the next level through hard work, grit and commitment, which makes this partnership a natural fit,” says Renie Anderson, NFL senior vice president, sponsorship and partnership management. “We’re proud to be partnering with such a legendary American brand and look forward to helping Ford trucks become synonymous with the country’s most popular sports league.”

The deal is more than a tagline for the season. Ford also teamed up with Uber for an interesting new concept they are calling “Built Ford Tough Tailgate Trucks on Demand.” On gamedays in various cities throughout the year, you’ll have the chance to order an NFL-themed Ford truck that will come to you set up like a tailgate. We’re talkin’ grills and burgers and dogs, so that’s pretty dope. Ford will also be doing a “Built Ford Tough Offensive Line of the Week,” which will be an award for exactly what it says.

It’s not like Ford really needs the additional eyes, but this is a major get for them.
