Ford Monster Truck-Driving ‘Rednecks’ Visit Houston, Save the Day
Monster trucks aren’t just good for slinging mud. They’re great at navigating flooded streets, too.
If for some reason you had lost a little faith in humanity recently, rest assured, because the good will pouring into Houston in the wake of Hurricane Harvey has us feeling warm and fuzzy about society once again. Scores of people have donated their money and time already to help out folks in need. And apparently, a bunch of lifted trucks, including at least one Ford monster truck, are doing their part in the relief effort, too.

This video showing both a lifted Cadillac Escalade and Ford Super Duty truck saving a stranded military LMTV recently went viral. But the story behind these trucks (and their drivers) is perhaps even more intriguing. They’re part of an entire convoy that descended on Houston to help out, and they call themselves Rednecks with Paychecks.
The Texas-based group normally spends their time traveling the state and putting on mud slinging shows for the public. But when they found out their fellow Texans were in need, they loaded up a convoy and headed out. Since then, they’ve done everything from rescue vehicles to transport police and other first responders.
It’s a heartening story, no doubt. Heck, the crew even spent some time delivering food to folks who found themselves stranded thanks to the record rainfall. Apparently, the group has been such a big help that local authorities even asked them to provide assistance in nearby Port Arthur and Beaumont.
Does it get any better than seeing folks help other folks, for no other reason than because they want to? Ford and Chevy working together in harmony? Well, we’re still a little skeptical about the latter. The way we see it, the Ford monster truck had to help finish a job the Cadillac couldn’t do on its own. But for now, we’ll just put our bias aside and appreciate the fine work of this redneck bunch.
