Plants in Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky to follow later in the month.

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for the country and the world, and as we look forward to getting our lives back to normal soon, the Ford Motor Company has announced that the iconic automaker is aiming to reopen its Hermosillo Assembly Plant in Mexico on April 6 and shortly thereafter restart production at additional plants in North America.

The swift action is Ford’s way of bringing key plants back online while the company introduces additional safety measures to protect returning workers. It’s also a promising sign that we’ll all be back in our trucks and hitting the off-road trails very soon.

“We will continue to assess public health conditions as well as supplier readiness and will adjust plans if necessary,” said Kumar Galhotra, Ford’s president of North America.
