Funny Video Seriously Shreds Chevy ‘Real People’ Ad

If the people in Chevy’s latest commercial were actually ‘real’ and not paid actors, this is how they would react… 

If you own a TV, you’ve probably already seen the latest Chevy Real People commercial. It centers around a group of allegedly “real people, not actors” exiting a fancy joint and attempting to retrieve their cars from a valet. Except, the valet is actually undercover, like on a prank show! Get it? We don’t either, really. After all, anybody with a brain can immediately figure out that these people aren’t real. They’re actors, reading from a carefully curated script.

In real life, people would be miffed if the valet pulled up in a car that didn’t belong to them. Well, at least if it’s some crappy Chevy. So, the funny guys over at YouTube channel Zebra Corner made some, uh, modifications to the Chevy Real People commercial to make it more realistic. And the results are predictably funny.

The basic premise of the commercial remains the same, yet Zebra Corner adds a new character, a guy named “Mahk,” who sports a very Bostonian accent. And he clearly isn’t happy when the boneheaded valet brings around a Chevy instead of his beloved 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara . When asked if he wants to check it out, Mahk replies “I don’t want to look at your stupid Chevy.”

Mahk is there to provide a dose of reality for the commercials “real people,” too. After one of the occupants declares “this feels like a luxury SUV,” he walks by and proclaims “Yea, except it’s not. It’s a Chevy.” And hilariously, after every single person acts surprised that they’re actually sitting in a Chevy, he walks by and points out “Did you miss the Chevy emblems everywhere?”

The whole thing is a real gut buster, especially when Mahk points out the ridiculous disparity in pricing. Despite the commercial’s claim that the Equinox starts at $24,525, the model shown comes to $36,950. Which, with taxes and fees, means “You’re paying forty thousand dollars for a Chevy. No thanks.” Which is what we’ve been saying for years.
