F150 Online Homepage

Looking for a fun distraction? F-150 Online forum members discuss everything from mods made to their trucks to current events.

The odds are good that if you live in the United States and you own a Ford F-150, you might have a whole lot of free time on your hands right now. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced many businesses and schools to temporarily close while many states have announced stay-at-home mandates for anyone who isn’t headed to an “essential job”. Being stuck at home leaves many of us without a good way to socialize with other like-minded Ford truck owners and that is where F150Online comes into play.

F150Online is a great place to get technical information or to share details of a Ford F-150 project, but the community shares their views on many topics beyond pickups. From regional meets and events to current events, just about everything is discussed in the General Discussion section. From motorsports to gun laws to Coronavirus to songs that mention Ford trucks, the General Discussion section has something for everyone.

Best of all, it is free to join the forum and participate, so for those who haven’t become an F150Online member, here is a quick rundown of how to join and begin talking with your fellow Ford truck fans.

F150Online Registration

You can read through all of the threads on F150Online without joining the site, but to get the most of the site, you will want to register. It is free and easy, requiring only an email address and some imagination to think up your username.

On the forum homepage, at the upper right-hand corner, you will see the button to register for the forum. When you click that button, you are taken to a new screen with several registration options. You can join using your Google or Facebook accounts, or you can make a standalone account on the forum. To make an account from scratch, you simply enter your email address, your username that you create, your desired password and your birthday. After answering a few simple questions, you click “Complete Registration” and you are almost done.

The final step is to verify your registration in the email sent from the website. Once you have verified your email address, your account will be live and you are ready to start posting.

Posting on the Site

If you are new to F150Online, it is a good idea to make your first post by introducing yourself in the Introduction Forum section. It is the first section at the top of the forum list and you enter any section by clicking the section title.

F150 Online List

Once in the Introduction Forum section (or any other section), you will find a list of active threads and above that, a small blue button that says “New Thread”. That is what you click to make a new thread and when you do, you go to the posting screen.

Posting a thread is simple, especially if you are making an introduction post. Start with a title in the first box, introduce yourself in the second, larger box and if you have a picture of your F-150, you can attach that to the post by clicking the “Manage Attachments” button just below the message box.

F150 Online Posting

Once you have done that, you can scroll to the bottom of the posting page, where you will find the “Submit New Thread” button. When you click that, the thread will be posted to the forum.

Once you know how to post a new thread, you are ready to begin posting elsewhere around the forum. If you have a question about your Ford F-150, you can scroll half-way down the forum list to the era-specific sections. Find the section that applies to your truck and post in there in the same manner that you did in the Introduction Forum.

F-150 Online Era Sections

On the other hand, if you would rather talk to fellow F-150 owners about current events, you can scroll to the bottom of the forum, where you will find the General Discussion section. This is where you find all of the threads on topics that don’t relate to the F-150 pickup.

So, if you have a Ford F-150 or if you are just an F-150 enthusiast and you want to socialize with other Ford truck fans, register, introduce yourself and get to posting around F150Online.com.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
