Ranger Raptor Reveal Breaks the Internet!

Ranger Raptor Reveal Breaks the Internet!

Yep, the Ranger Raptor is real, and it’s spectacular.

The new Ford Ranger won’t land in our neck of the woods until 2019. And while all of the rumors leave us to believe the Ranger is a truck that’s worth waiting for, there’s always been a question in the back of our minds when it comes to an off-roading version of the truck. Hey, Ford has the F-150 Raptor, so a Ranger Raptor is a possibility right? Now, we have our answer and it’s a resounding yes!

Ford Australia released a video on YouTube previewing a Ranger Raptor running, jumping, and clawing its way through the wild. While the video is relatively short at roughly a minute long, it gives us our first glimpse at what a smaller Raptor looks like. And it’s glorious.

If the Ranger is set to make its way to the U.S. for the 2019 model year, we’re sure a Raptor variant of the pickup will follow closely behind.

While it’s nice to watch the Ranger Raptor tear up the Outback, the pickup truck’s exterior is obscured courtesy of some crazy camouflage. But there are some things we can pick out, including the Ranger Raptor’s macho front grille, wide fenders, and off-roading-oriented suspension.

Speaking of the pickup truck’s suspension, the video provides us with a close-up look at the vehicle’s underpinnings. And while we don’t see any Fox-related branding, we’d be shocked to see the automaker use components from another supplier in its off-roading Ranger.

Now, the major question is whether Ford will bring the Ranger Raptor over to the U.S. And, unfortunately, we highly doubt Ford will provide any information on the issue, as automakers make it clearly known that they don’t discuss future products. Still, if the Ranger is set to make its way to the U.S. for the 2019 model year, we’re sure a Raptor variant of the pickup will follow closely behind. At least, here’s to hoping that it will.
