HyperCar Tuned Ford Raptor Is All About Those Gains

HyperCar Tuned Ford Raptor Is All About Those Gains

Taking your Raptor to the next level doesn’t have to cost a fortune, after all!

The Ford Raptor is by no means what anyone might call slow. Packing 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque right off the showroom floor, the off-road beast is already capable of embarrassing plenty of “fast” road cars. But that hasn’t stopped a nearly uncountable number of aftermarket companies from wringing additional power out of the Raptor, not by a long shot.

But most of those builds are crazy expensive and feature a host of upgraded parts. So what’s a guy to do if he wants to wring more ponies out of his Ford Raptor without breaking the bank (or his truck)? Well, that’s where HyperCar Development comes in. The company that also specializes in tuning exotics like McLarens just so happens to offer speed parts for the Raptor, and the results are rather impressive.

To demonstrate just how impressive, they let The Smoking Tire‘s Matt Farah borrow their “HyperFast” Raptor for a spin through the California desert. Farah claims in the video that with a 3-inch exhaust and tune, this Raptor now produces 400 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque at the wheels, which is an impressive gain over stock. However, it’s worth noting that HyperCar’s quoted 275 hp figure on a stock Raptor is incorrect. In reality, most have garnered 330-360 hp, depending on the dyno used. But we digress.

Regardless, gains of 40-70 hp are impressive given the relatively low cost and simplicity of these mods. And Farah seems to enjoy every one of them as he blasts across the dirt at high speed. He giggles incessantly over “the speed, the absolute effortless speed,” which is almost “sports car-like.” Which, if you’ve already ponied up for a Raptor, is well worth a couple extra grand, right?
