King Ranch: King of the F-150 Lineup?

King Ranch: King of the F-150 Lineup?

By -

The King Ranch may not technically be the best F-150 you can buy, but is it the nicest?

If you’re a fan of the Ford F-150, you know the hierarchy of Ford’s pickup lineup. It all starts with the plebeian XL, followed by the XLT. Then things start to get a little luxurious with the Lariat. The King Ranch slots above the Lariat, and if you want to be real fancy, you get a Platinum or a Limited. But are these trucks really nicer, even if they cost more money? After all, the only thing that really sets them apart is (basically) just trim.

It’s a question that popular YouTuber AutoVlog tackles in a great new video. And AV reckons that the King Ranch is actually the nicest F-150 model you can buy, despite its mid-range slot in Ford’s lineup. His reasoning? The King Ranch has the most character, style, and history of all the trim levels.

And honestly, he makes some good points. You still get all the goodies of the higher trim levels without spending the extra cash. The interior is simply beautiful, and even uses a special distressed leather that you can’t get anywhere else. AV makes the bold (well, not too bold) statement that it’s even nicer than the interiors of the Limited and Platinum.

Ford and King Ranch have a little bit of history together as well, forming a partnership back in 1999. The trim level was first offered in 2001. If you aren’t familiar with King Ranch, it’s an actual 825,000-plus acre ranch in Texas that has been around since the 1860s.

So when you opt for the King Ranch, you’re getting a top of the line truck with every available option, the best interior available, and a cool story. What’s better than that?
