OPTIMA Presents MY RIDE! A 2002 Ford SVT Lightning
When it comes to performance trucks, the Lightning is the dream rig. Sure — other Ford trucks can be built up and made into some pretty amazing machines, but that’s a lot of work and effort that isn’t necessary if one chooses to just start with the extraordinary Lightning as their base. For example, the 2002 Ford SVT Lightning started off with 380 horsepower and 450 foot-pounds of torque right off the production line, whereas the 2002 Ford F-150 had just 202 horsepower and 252 foot-pounds of torque. Clearly, there is no debate that the Lightning is an outstanding machine!
Today we’ll be stepping into F150Online tarajerame‘s garage and taking a closer look at his ride that lies within!
As you might have guessed, tarajerame is the proud owner of a 2002 Ford SVT Lightning. The beast is, you know, “pretty much stock with a few bolt-ons.” While we on’t believe that this twin-turbo DOHC monster is that basic for a second, we’ll at least humor him a little bit. After all, having a ride seem less threatening than it is has a lot of benefits!
The ride looks great and probably sports more modifications than we know, but we are definitely certain that if we met this rig on the street we would lose the race!
While tarajerame seems to own several other Ford rigs, we’d be willing to bet this is the fastest of the bunch! Go stop by his garage and leave some comments, browse the photography, and have a great time! Be sure to keep your garage up to date and maybe you’ll be featured next week on MY RIDE!
