Super Duty Pulls Wakeboarder in Hurricane Harvey’s Wake

Unstoppable Ford truck helps a group of Texans make the best of a very bad situation.

Hurricane Harvey has finally moved away from Houston after dumping historic amounts of rainfall on the Texas city. It’s a horrific tragedy, one that we won’t know the full extent of for quite some time. There are positive things that have come from this, of course. We’ve seen countless images of people helping others selflessly. There’s plenty of proof that nothing can fully diminish the human spirit.

And you’ve got to hand it to a number of Texans who are making the best of a bad situation. Heck, some are even out there trying to have a little fun in spite of it all. Like this guy, who was recently caught wakeboarding in a flooded ditch. But instead of a boat, he got a pull from a last-gen Super Duty. Talk about standing defiantly in the face of mother nature!

In this case, the group seems to have found one of the few roads in Houston that isn’t actually flooded. But the long, straight ditch makes for a nice surfing platform. And obviously, the Super Duty has no problem acting as an impromptu towing rig. After all, it’s used to pulling much heavier loads down the street.

This kind of thing is nothing new, of course. We’ve seen plenty of folks out surfing flooded streets and doing their best to keep their spirits up. And it seems to happen every time a hurricane or major downpour leaves a city under water. And while events like Hurrican Harvey are obviously serious, you have to admire the fact that these folks refuse to let it diminish hope.
