TRUCK YOU! Welcome to Raoul Duke’s Garage
Welcome to Truck You! A feature spotlighting trucks, you and what’s inside your garage. Meet Raoul Duke a.k.a. 4ctNduction of T-E-X-A-S, the proud owner a 2002 Ford F-150 Supercrew and a customized 2012 Honda CBR 1000RR.
Duke is interested in winning car shows, works in retail and has been a F150online.com member since 2007.
In case you didn’t know, Raoul Duke, was the pen name of the late great gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson. It also happens to be the name of 4ctNduction’s online garage.
If you haven’t read Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream, stop what you are doing and order a copy right now.
Terry Gilliam directed a version of the cult classic with Johnny Depp as Duke in 1998. The book is an entertaining read, the film was a flop.
Aside from being an obvious Thompson fan, 4ctNduction also has a sweet spot for another American legend – Evel Knievel. Check out his killer bike.
The legendary daredevil would most likely approve of the red, white and blue Honda CBR 1000RR that shares space in 4ctnduction’s garage.
Knievel started his career jumping over rattlesnakes on a Honda 250 before switching to Harley-Davidsons in the late 1960s and early 1970s. R.I. P. Evel!
Recent modifications to the bright red, Supercrew include a pimping pin-stripe job on the hood that looks Super suh-weet! Great job and keep up the good work.
On a cautionary note, 4ctnduction advises forum members not to buy a used Raptor and posted this gonzo video on a thread. After watching the sad tale you may also be inclined to agree. Best to wait until Ford unveils the 2016s.
In the meantime go check out the rest of Raoul Duke’s garage in the forum.>>
