Want to Go F-250 Logging? Unsung Series Shows Modern Techniques Merging with Old-School Hard Work.
Anderson drives regular 30-40 mile commutes from the family’s fourth-generation shop. With chainsaws humming and giant logs dangling overhead, turning off the main road is just part of a day’s work that’s made even trickier when the northern California rains hit.
Their logging is all done up on the ridge tops, away from streams to protect wild salmon and the Spotted Owl, his sure-footed Blue Oval beast blazing a trail for this important work. And the result is more timberland in the US than we had 100 years ago, thanks to practices like these and, of course, to the harder and smarter working men of today’s logging industry.
