I think that small patch of black looks like pubic hair...

it's your truck so by all means do what you think will look best, at the end of the day you've got to drive it and look at it

Yeah, that would kind of make it fit a bit more...

Dingus, maybe see how much a silver pinstripe outline would add to the paint cost.

Where at? I'm not a fan of silver. Trying to minimize the silver/chrome on the truck. Only thing chrome will be the grille and some of the wheels.

Here is tarajerame's idea.

Something like this. the pinstripe follows the line of the hood, and down around the gril

Not a bad idea, don't really want to copy many ideas for my truck. If I did do the pin stripe, it'll be black.

I played around on photoshop with the pinstrip idea, didn't like it much. Tomorrow the hood and truck go in for work, so you guys will see what the hood will look like soon!

Turned the truck in, gave them my final idea on the hood, going to cost $450 to paint and install. They told me when they paint hoods, they have to paint each fender to make it blend in more or some crap. Whatever, I just want my truck done and back to new!

^^I'd go back and talk to them and tell them to paint just the hood. Your paint is fresh enough and looks like it has been taken good care of enough that they wouldn't have to "blend" the paint. If that was the case, they'd have to blend the back of the cab/doors to match the new paint they're putting on the bed.

I'm just letting the shop do what they do, if they mess up, then it's on them to fix the problem. Because I even had them clarify that it'll all match still.

7 years is enough time for the paint to fade.. trust me. Especially if the thing does not sit inside most of the day out of the sun. My paint is 12 years old in some areas and when I got stuff repainted a couple years ago I was more than suprised to see the difference between the blues. The blue is soo much better fresh. I can imagine it would be the same in his truck, but probably not as drastic. I would tend to agree with them sanding down the fenders and blending them a little.

Just think about it this way.. front of your truck will be perfect. For now!
