Having bad experience with the Bosch on other vehicles and the parts guy telling me I'd need to modify the harness for it to work I purchased a denso replacement for my failed bank1 sensor.

4wd150 - I'd wait for an SES code before replacing them. I'll let you know in a few days if the one I pull out looks like it was original (truck has 236K miles)

The O2 sensors that came in the truck off the assembly line were Bosch.

The one I took off and the one I put on were 98% identical. The plastic was a different color on the connector and the old one looked worn out. The Bosch 15664 upstream O2 sensor screwed in and plugged right in with 0 modification. The wiring was perfect for length. Just enough to plug in and tuck back up. Just sayin'.

The only place I saw something with a Motorcraft name on it was actually an ACDelco.

There's Green, Blue and White Connectors. Some you have to shave the **** off in order to connect. This is normal. Also upstream and downstream O2 sensors are identical and interchangeable. Same deal, you may have to shave that **** off the connector.

Just though you guys might want to know.

1997 ford 150, 5.4 trouble code p0141

1997 ford 150, 5.4 trouble code p0141.The code was followed by Bank 1 Sensor 2. Replaced Bank 1 Sensor 2 after 2 days of penetrating oil and patience. To my dimise still runnining rough or stumbling sometimes. Retested after instulation of Oxygen Sensor and still read p0141 Bank 1 Sensor 2. Part store gave me the long list of possible causes (EGR module, HO2S, PCM ect.). They also gave me the reported fixes. Is there a possibility that sensor 1 could be the problem ? since it is on the same side of exhaust. My understanding that Bank 1 Sensor 1 has been problamatic in some vehicles also I noted that under the reported fixes of my vehicle that Bank 1 , Sensor 1 is the only sensor that has not been replaced on this vehicle. Respectfully, Dwayne

Sensor 2 is the downstream sensor, all it does is report on cat efficiency. Bank 1 is PASSENGER side, did you replace the right one?

Upstream and downstream sensors are the same? $20 difference at parts store with different part numbers.

Sensor

Yes replaced the downstream on passengers side. Code definition = Downstream heated oxygen sensor heater htr 12 circuit malfunction Bank one. after replacing sensor tested same code. I was hoping all I had to do is replace bank 1 sensor 1 but seems to be a bigger issue, maybe By the way thanks for corresponding. hopefully we can resolve this issue

DID you disconnect the battery for 10-20 min or have a code reader to erase or reset the codes? (after your repair)??

Yes, Identical sensors, - different harness length and slightly different connector. But both sensors will connect to up and downstream vehicle harness connectors.

Yea, it's the circuit obviously. You can have those DTC's when the vehicle harness blades are dirty and needs cleaning. This happens allot upon reconnect. The connectors can be picky, any wire can have dielectric plus dirt interrupting the continuity path.

The heaters (*both white wires) and signal + ground all have to be spotless inside the connectors in order for a well enough connection. Currently, one or both of your white wires have an issue.

You need to inspect the connecters for corrosion and/or foreign matter. This connecter is probably the pickiest, as far as being clean to function properly.

Use something that's plastic safe to clean/flush the connector. Perhaps mineral spirits, denatured alcohol or whatnot. A small brush and compressed air to assist would be a big help.

When it comes to the downstream, it usually always the connector. Somethings up with your white wires, need to investigate @ the vehicle side O2 connector. Make sure you clean BOTH connections at this point, before reconnect.

Disconnect the battery before preforming this one. -Definitely.

For what it's worth, here is a write up with pics I did a few years ago on how to swap out the O2 sensors.
