Take out the blocks between the rear axle and the leaf springs. The blocks are 2" tall so that will result in a 2" drop.

Are there enough threads on the lower half of the U bolts to remove the block or will you need shorter U bolts?

Just go to a junk yard and get a set of u-bolts off a 2wd F150 of the same generation....or go to a local auto parts store and order a set of replacement u-bolts for a 2wd truck of the same year

Yeah,
theres no 2" block in a 2wd truck.
You just need 2" drop shackles.

Here ya go.

As long as your current trans is still good you just need the 5.4 motor and the 5.4 wire-harness. Some guys even run the 5.4 with the 4.6 wire-harness.
You can get a tune for the computer thats already in the truck to run the 5.4
Actually, the 5.4 will run on the 4.6 tune, but it will run better with a tune for the 5.4

If your going to swap it all,(motor, trany and computer) then yes.You have it right.

Both the 4.6 and 5.4 have a 4r70 trany.

Maybe if you would have explained exactly what your truck was and the details on it you would have gotten more straight forward answers.
