i dont know how to post pics on here but I did email him and he is gonna get back to me.

You can say I have a show truck because as it stands its a one of a kind and I take 1st place at car shows to help raise funds for storm chasing, but unlike a trailer queen the my truck is my daily driver.

I hope anyone on here can help me with the build. This will be my first but I have inlisted the help of friends and one of them builds engines for a living so I hope he knows a little something.

I don't forsee any issues with that setup unless the second alternator is really close to the hood now because you'll need to space the engine up about a half inch.

Here's what I did today...

The alternator has about 3 inches of gap from the hood so I should be ok. Thanks for your help.

I would rather be playing then sitting here at work right now.

Maybe you can help me, I am doing a 4.6 windsor to romeo swap and the dude i bought this project from lost the AC compressor bolts. Does anyone have the specs on them?

THANKS!!

If anyone cares they are M8 1.25 X 100mm, or at least those work.

@ishootstuff, @anyone else with answers, magic pixie dust, a bag of free cash

I currently own a 1999 F-150 with the 4.6 and a 4r70W tranny its also 4x4 I Have an entire excursion with the v10 and 4x4 at my disposal. After reading through your posts' it seems as though I will need the pcm from the excursion but the transmission is a problem I was wondering if I leave the entire engine and transmission connected from the excursion would that eliminate the gem to abs, torque converter, speedometer issues?

Also could I use the steering wheel and all from the excursion to eliminate my PATS trouble on the f-150?

Essentially this is big stuff to me Ive done direct swaps u know 4.6 to 4.6 and just hook up but nothing requiring this volume so Im asking how much of the excursion can I rape to eliminate any trouble I may run into.

And thanks for any and all replies

Could the v10 be compatible with the 4r70w?

Kudos on the swap. I should be in a chair to get around to. I tackled putting in a 4 link w/ adjustable coilovers last summer. Got tired of the truck wrapping up the springs. Glad you found out all the differences in the wiring.

well if I take the powertrain(motor and tranny) ha tranny anyway out of the excursion and i swap it into the f150 then that would eliminate possible issues with blowing out the 4r70w transmision

it seems as though it would fit considering these model trucks had the available 4r100 transmission option

my concern is on the electrical/wiring side of things thats where Im hazy

wherre ishootstuff ran parallel pcms and abs modules bootstrapped to the f150 gems

another question?

Can i take the entire wiring harness and pcm from the excursion and the steering column to eliminate ignition pats stuff and swap into the f150 and still have proper connections power ect to the instrument cluster and all the gauges and speedo

I originally pan the two PCM's in parallel because I thought that was the root cause of my speedometer issue. You can just get a SuperDuty PCM which has no PATS and pull the theft bulb out of the cluster.

I don't know about the steering column and all the wiring thing. It sounds like a lot of work and I don't know that everything will bolt up, fit, be compatible, etc.

All you need is the ABS module to feed the speedo signal.

Definitely put the 4r100 in. I'm pretty sure the V10 will eat 4r70w.

I hope this answers your questions. I'm tired... Feel free to PM me. I'm sorry for the late response, I didn't get a notification that someone posted in this thread.
