Rear Homemade Gap guard project Success!!!!!

Hey guys i decided i was just not going to spend money on a couple of rubber pieces from 4 wheel parts and went on the hunt for alternatives..after an unsuccessful walk through home depot on a search for possible material to use i stopped by my cousins house to hang out for a while. When i told him what i was trying to do he told me he had a large piece of heavy duty rubber from a farm equipment combine. It turned out to be perfect. We measured, cut out what we needed, washed them off and slapped those baby's on there..what was my total cost?? about 10.00 and thats from taking my cuz out to eat for saving me some $$$ haha.. here is a link to some pics, let me know what ya think..sorry they aren't great,it was kind of dark when we finished, ill take some better ones later on with a closer views...

Good job! I too have been looking for material to use, but have been unsuccessful. I had an old bed mat that I was going to use, but the material was just too heavy. I even thought about buying one of those large black trash cans and just cutting strips out of it. lol

I've seen people around here take those really thick rubber dinner mats you can get at like Walmart for a few dollars and use those too.

Looks pretty cool

Is there a purpose other than the looks for doing this? Maybe prevent mud or something?
