hey fellas, in desperate need of your amazing wealth of knowledge here.

Truck: 2002 f150 5.4 xlt/fx4 117k...mi

long story short, i was mudding with a buddy today and he got stuck, i tried to pull him out several times but had no luck, we called another guy with a raptor to try and get him out, in the mean time i head to the grocery store to pick up a few things.

This is where things get screwy...

I noticed immediately that i have a rough idle as soon as i hit the pavement,
im lacking power from a dead stop and from any speed when you try to "get on it".

I skip the store, call my friend and tell him i aint coming back out there. I immediately try to go to the car wash. While on my way, the service engine soon light comes on and starts to flash. I hurry to the car wash, turn it off and let it sit for about 5 mins while i clean it good in the wheel wells and the under carriage. On the way back home the service engine soon light came back on but this time was on solid and not flashing, it was also still very weak in the gears and still has a rough idle.

any thoughts?

I'm thinking possibly the transmission, i remember a distinct smell when trying to get my friend out, don't really notice it anymore now though..
