Wheel bearing part compatibility

Well I am having a dilema. I went to get an alighnment done and was told I have a front wheel bearing that has a little bit of play in it. Doesnt make any noise or anything. It maybe causing the slight pull to the left it has though????
Well I was looking at front wheel bearings for a 2001 F150 7700 and they are about $180! I looked for a 98 F250 LD and found them almost $100 cheaper. Now will these work for my truck? I don't see any noticable difference in the two. They do come with the whole hub assembly.

I think that the compatibility might boil down to how many studs there are for the rim and wheel to attach to....thinking that your 7700 has 7 studs. Can't say for certain that the f250 ld would have the same number of studs, they might have 8?

call up you local parts store or http://www.rockauto.com/ (1-866-762-5288) and explain your situation and are concerned with getting the correct parts. I sure most any place can clear it up. I found that RA to be the most economical & helpful.

the price can vary with these things...personally I wouldn't trust the cheaper units. Its the old saying "you get what you pay for"! I too just bought some wheel bearings for my f150...I went with Moog...,1), for the their reputation of quality parts and, 2), for the warranty.

Check out 1AAuto.com.

I bought both left front and right front hubs from them for 124 a pair. Not each. They are quality products and ship fast. Not sure how much price difference the 7 lug is because I have 5 lug but I'd still give it a shot.

F150 7700 is the same as f250 LD. The LD was 97-99 and 7700 was 00-03. We're the wheel bearings both for a 4x4?

Yeah they were both for 4x4. And both 7 lug. I dont want to get the better name bearing for a 98 LD for cheaper than it would be for the 01 and something not be right then have the hassle of sending it back. Personally I cant see any tell tale signs of "bad bearing".. When I had bearings start to go out they almost always made some sort of noise. I couldnt notice any play either? Just makes me wonder if the bearing is actually causeing me to have a slight pull or im just being really **** like always.

Maybe go get a second opinion at a different alignment shop if you have some concern.
