Mixing coolant

Gonna be doing a coolant exchange I hope by late today. I have 2 bottles of prestone green stuff (straight coolant not 50/50) and I needed a third to do this. So I went to local stores and could only find Peak coolant. Says you can mix with any type of color coolant. Is it a safe bet to be able to mix these? I have read different post in other forums that says NOT to do this and only use motocraft. Didnt want to spend more money since I already have the prestone. A little insight would be great before I puck things up.

Sorry prestone might not be green stuff. I cant tell green from yellow sometimes. I do know the prestone is a yellow bottle and the peak is blue bottle both extended life. I also have 3gal of distilled water.

I prefer not to mix colors. I put a new rad in last winter and used the Ford Gold Longlife Antifreeze because that is what was in it before. Why take a risk that could leave you on the side of the road overheating?

As long as the bottle says its compatible with any color you wont have any problem. I've done it many times and I cant say I've had any problem. Don't like Dex cool thats thee only amtifreeze I absolutely avoid..

Yeah I do know to avoid dexcool. My buddy runs that in his d-max and he is scared to death someday it will burn his head gaskets up. Told him not run it but hey, hes a Chevy guy he dont know how to listen lol. I tried to do the flush but it just didnt seem to drain like I thought it was suppose to so I am going to take to the shop and let them do it. When I pulled that mud looking crap out of my overflow tank got me really motivated to get this done right.

Never would have thought to use a shopvac. Did it work well?
