Whatever spacer you get, make sure that it's made out of steel. I'm assuming that Prothane is a polyurethane material. Polyurethane and aluminum are at higher risk of failure. Steel ones usually aren't too much more expensive anyway. I have an Autospring on my 2006, but I don't know if they make a spacer for the 97-03's

I'd do at least a 2" lift, that'll put you right about level. And it'll allow a narrow 33" tire depending on the tread pattern, the wheels you use, and it's actual size (not whats on the sidewall).

I would look into some Rancho Quicklifts. I just got some and they will level out your truck as well as replace your stock shocks. At first I was going to do a simple level kit but this seemed better to me. I'm not sure your model and everything thought so I don't know if they make ones for your truck. Check out Autoplicity.com they had the best prices for them.

They don't make those for pre-04 trucks. The 04+ f150's have a coilover suspension, the 97-03's have coil springs (2wd) or torsion bars (4wd).
