No 4x4 lightning. 5.4 99 Lariat RegCab would have likely been a special order truck.

Post up some pics please!

Hope to get it home the end of the week. And will get some pics of it posted. Have a 60,000 mile motor that will be going on the engine stand this evening. Going to clean it up and pull the oil pan off. Check out the lower end, then check the timing chains and under the valve covers.
Not sure yet but thinking about putting a new oil pump on it. Also new water pump and plugs. Feel that its easy to do while the motor is out. So do these and hope it last me as long as I will need the truck.

Here's a few pics of the old truck. Will take some work on the truck after I get the motor in it. But thinking it may be a keeper.

I would replace everything you can possible afford to replace while it it out. Anything that you think might go in the next 5 years, pull it and replace it. Keep the old parts as spares just in case you need to use them in the future. With the engine out, you can do pretty much anything in there. A big problem lots of trucks that sit have is the exhaust manifold bolts rusting and the heads coming off. It is a very, very time consuming job. The manifold is pretty cheap to just buy a new one so I would take it off while your engine is out and put a whole new manifold on. It's cheaper to put a new one on than to put new bolts in the old one.

I have new manifold bolts along with new head bolts and gaskets. Only thing I don't have yet is the timing stuff. Thinking I will just replace all that also along with new oil pump. All new seals and gaskets on the motor also.
I have the factory intake manifold from the 1999. Its metal not plastic like the 2002. Going to put it back on with all new stuff also.

Those wheels were not available in 1999. Those are available later, like on my 2002.

Thanks had no ideal what were factory in 1999. All that I did know was the truck came with the 17's. But not sure what they looked like. The clear coat is peeling off these in spots. So guessing if I don't find different wheels I like. Will be sand blasting these. Then power coat them in a color that I want to go with the truck.

It's possible it could be a canadian truck too. You can get crazy option packages that we can't get here. Like you can get a standard cab lariat still (at least you could up till 2015), FX4, etc

It was built in Canada then delivered to Va. Sold to someone there for a year. Then went to ms, then to Tn in 2011.
From what I read, you could not get the standard cab Lariat in 1999 here. But guess it being built in Canada that was why it was built like its built. Also does not have the overhead console. But has the Leather seats with Lariat on them. Plus a cabinet behind the seats with Hinged top on them. Pass side holds the CD changer.
It looks to have every option that you could get and then some on it. Even has cab filter for the heat and AC.

The Lariat regular cab was available from 97 thru 99.
My 99 was built in Norfolk.

I believe Ford wanted to redirect loaded-leather buyers to the all new Supercrew release in 2000.
So the top trim line 'Lariat' was probably dropped from the regular cab run in 2000 for that reason.

Thanks enjoying learning about the old truck. Thinking it may be finished out then turned into my daily driver.

Yes I understand that. What brought that up, the vin decoder I used was the one that brought it up as one.
Thanks
Pete
