The first 23 hours. A preliminary report.
Picked up the new F-150 (True Blue, DS Grey two-tone FX4 Screw)@ 11:30am yesterday. Overall I love the truck. Will love it more after a couple of things.
1. At mile #25 on the vehicle, on my way home, I blew a fuse. #109 (Power seat, power adjustable pedals) Don't know how, don't know why. Was adjusting the seat and "poof" stopped working. I'm going to get another fuse (30 amp) in an hour. By the way, there are no spare fuses in the box. I also had a hard time finding the box. It's on the right side of the vehilce under the glove box and in front of the front passenger door.
2. There are two small blemishes on the exterior vehicle. Didn't see them while at the dealer (it was foggy and blah outside). Saw them later in the day when the sun came out. On the driver door, the black plastic peice that runs up the right side of the window has a chip in it. And on the back left corner of my bumper, it is scuffed and chipped. About one inch long. I'm assuming they did it while backing onto or off of the car carrier or parking it somewhere. I just know I didn't do it.
Both chips are going to be fixed by the dealer without problem. They are very very concerned about how I fill out the survey that will be sent to me from Ford. So they will probably kiss my a$$ until I send that in. Apparently the only way the dealer passes the survey is if they get the best rating for every single question on the survey.
So I just keep thinking about those two things at the moment, which is detracting from the TOTAL enjoyment, but she rides like a dream. Yesterday I thought I was doing 45mph and I was doing 60mph. You really don't notice the speed. It's also very quiet inside. I didn't even hear the engine when I was idling.
I will post some pictures after the liner is put in and I have gotten the two blemishes repaired. Or maybe I'll do some before and after shots of the dings.
Love the big mirrors also. Very easy to drive. Blinker is a little loud, as well as the alarm. And I have to find a new driving position because the arm rest on the door is farther away than my other vehicles. I like to drive w/ the left hand, while the left elbow rests on the arm rest.
Even my mom, who hates trucks, gave it a compliment. At least from her it is a compliment. "I guess for a truck, it's alright."
And a former neighbor said, "The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys."

Well, I get 'er back today. I'm feeling better about it after sleeping on it. Just trying not to think about them removing the seat to check the problem. Thinking positive. These are professionals. They do it all the time.
They gave me a Chevy S-10 as a loaner. Bit of a difference between that and the F-150.
I am getting the Line-X put in tomorrow. So I'm excited about that.
