Maybe the Hemi sells well because the 318 and 360 are discontinued and the 4.7 is too wimpy for such a heavy truck.
My feeling is that the Hemi is selling to existing Dodge owners who would have otherwise bought with the existing upgraded Dodge gas engine (the 360 or V10).

no one drives around at that rpm, but you can say that about almost any rpm, but everyone hits 1000 rpm. The point (and it's an excellent one, is that power comes on very strong early on in the rpm band, meaning the vehicle can accelerate strongly and quickly without waiting to hit the high power zone at 4000-5000 rpm. This also means a butt load when your talking about towing, where you can actually get the vehicle moving as soon as you get on the gas, and your less likely to have to do continous down shifts on hills etc etc.

The Nissan is a nice truck they did a fine job. Ford just outdid them with the '04.
The Hemi is a nice motor. It does kick the butt of many motors out there. Its just not the second coming of JC like DCX wants us to believe.

I would get into a battle of wits with you, but it seems you have come to the fight unarmed.
Have a good day, I know I will.

Whenever you feel up to it let me know. Shouldn't be much of a battle considering. Thus far I have found your attempts to assert yourself in any manner to be quite humerous.

You didn't think I was so little the other night, when I was, ahem- asserting myself!

Smooches!
Ghhehehehehe- Let it go man. The best truck won. It's over.
As far as I'm concerned, Motor Trend/Truck Trend is the automotive Bible. The only magazine's opinion that I'd even rate as high as MT/TT when it comes to trucks, is Truckin' magazine. But, as far as this beef with me & you- I'm done with it. There was nothing to beef about anyway. You have your opinion, I have mine. The simple fact is, I like more than one manufacturer.
Here's a few more articles/opinions.

Stats: (Ford's website)
There are some nice trucks out there guys- Competition (Whether you see it or not) makes them all better. Otherwise, Ford would've had no reason to change the 1997 - 2003 F-150, as it was still the better truck, in many aspects.... All it really needed as they were, was stronger engines. See for yourself how closely matched they are.
And yes, I know the Chevy is a 2500 so it's not exactly fair, but that's the only Crew-cab Ford had on the website; even though us truck-fans know that chevy has a 1500 HD Crew cab now... Doesn't matter any way as the new 150 has equal HP and as much, if not more torque than the 6.0L 2500.
Ford Lariat SuperCrew, Chevy 2500 LT Crew (1500 wasn't an option on Ford's site), Dodge Ram Quad Cab Laramie & Nissan Titan LE Crew cab.
