waiting forever!!!!

I am new to this forum, but I have been reading it for a while.
I ordered a new 04 lariat quite a while ago (like 9 or 10 weeks now) and have been waiting anxiously for some kind of news. Well I finally got a VIN today. Could someone please check on this and see if you can find out any more info. I had really wanted to get delivery by Christmas. Doesn't look good now. Please let me know what you can........Rock On... VIN is 1FTPX14544NB23203

Ordered Screw Lariat 4x4 on 9/9. Picked up at dealership on 12/4. Awesome Truck! No problems or defects... a well-built truck. My hat is off to the people in the Kansas City plant. It is worth the wait!

if you ordered extras like running boards you have been delayed so they can get more in. when I cancelled my RB's I had a truck in 7 weeks

The wait sucks!

Ordered my S-crew lariat on 10/24 and also didnt get a VIN until my bright tubular running boards were pulled off the order. My serialized date is also 12/11. The fleet manager said build is expected about 1/13 with an approx. 10 day ship time.
We'll see.

Good Luck.

I guess I have something ordered on mine that is causing it to be in a permanent holding pattern. I'd like to know exactly what it is, and if it is something I really don't care about, I'd dump it. The three things I'm willing to eliminate are the LT tires, Power Sliding rear window, and the Limited Slip rear end. I did order the black platform running boards. Those have to stay.

If anyone knows if any of those items are a problem, please let me know, and I'll have the order changed.

My order was placed 11-1-03. It is a sold order, with a priority number of 19 (I'd prefer it be priority10) and the dealer has the allotment available.

I just checked and "as of 11-18-03, the vehicle is clean and unscheduled, and there is no VIN assigned"

I'd really like to have a replacement for the wrecked SCrew ready to roll about the same time my wife is able to go back to work in mid Feb.

Your dealer can tell you if there are any items on your order that are causing a delay. Make those folks earn their money. If they won't or say they can't you might think about another dealer. Good Luck..

Yes do ask your dealer. Dont wait for them to tell you the problem. My dealer told me the LT tires were a problem and wouldnt put them on the order.

I would have my baby by now if the dealership was a little more willing to follow up on the order.

I believe that I had recently read (here?) that the LT tires were a commodity and that only 5% of the trucks are allowed to ship with these. I may be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.

I guess I really don't need the LT tires. I just didn't like the tread pattern on the P tires. If that is the hold up, they will be removed from the order!!

Thanks for the info.
