Selecting a color.

I have been driving my 1986 F-150 for 18 years now, and I think its time for a new truck! The type of truck is easy (2004 lariat), the options are simple, and the problem is the color. My old truck is blue so forget that, I have a black car so forget that. I was thinking aspen green, Arizona beige with black leather interior. Has anyone seen this combination? What do you think?

I'm a fan of the green. The beige is very classy, but when you get the tan leather interior, it just looks to blah. I don't think the black interior with arizona beige would be that great.

Best combination; any color other than beige, with tan leather interior.

Reading your post is like looking in the mirror. I also have an 86 F-150, white and blue, and recently purchased it's replacement, a 2004 Lariat supercab in arizona biege monotone. The darker colors show the dirt too much for my taste and the aspen green is so dark it looks black to me unless it's in direct sunlight.
I have the tan interior but I have installed Wet Okole seatcovers from Cabelas in a mocha and black combination. What configuration is your 86 and how many miles on it. Mine is a reg. cab 4x2 5.0 4spd./od 8ft. bed with 188,000 mi. Quite a change from one to the other but it's easy to get used to.

I went in to buy a light green metallic Lariat SCAB with tan leather and came home with a bright red FX4 SCAB with black cloth buckets.

So much for homework and pre-planning, huh?

I ordered my truck back in 86' w/ two tone blue and silver, XL package, 5 L, 4 speed automatic, regular cab, two wheel drive. At present in has 160, 000 km (100, 000 m)

The truck still looks and runs great, with not a spot of rust anywhere, which leads me to my next problem on what she's worth when I try to sell it.

All and all its been an excellent truck, but I'm still looking forward to purchasing the new one in the spring.
