Question Engine oil life estimate

Does anyone else have an engine oil life display on their Lariat Message Centers? I don't but according to Ford I should. Here is the text copied directly off the "What Comes Standard" section of a Lariat's vehicle specifications:

Message Center/Trip Computer (Includes Display Center Features Plus Distance to Empty, Engine Oil Life, Average Fuel Economy, etc.)

EVERY Lariat I check says the same thing. I'm guessing this is another feature they were going to offer but removed to save $$$

I'll have to ask my dealer about that. Thanks for pointing it out. It would be a nice feature. I have on my Mark VIII and like it.

It's the hour-meter feature. This shows the total operating hours of the Engine. You reset it after you have your oil changed. You normally change oil based on a date or miles. This feature lets you base your oil change on operating hours.

and before you ask the interval check with Ford....probably 100 hours..it's better to base your oil change on operating hours because 3,000-5,000 mile interval doesn't factor your engine just sitting idling.
