lariat instrument clusters, in an FX4

Does anyone know if it is possible to slide a set of lariat gauges in an FX4?, or is the little computer seperate from the actual gauge housing?....in other words, how feasable is it?

Wiring harness is different for the Lariat gauges vs. all the others.

This is one of the reasons I bought a Lariat instead of a FX4. It took me forever to make up my mind, but I decided that it would be easy to put the FX4 options I liked on a Lariat, but not so easy to add the electronics of a Lariat to a FX4.

About the wiring harness being different.

Before I had the stock cluster in my '04 STX replaced by an instrument cluster for a SX4, the service department and parts department told me that all of the harnesses in all of the new style 2004 F150 were the same part number.

In other words the harness that plugs into all of the intrument clusters are the same.

Now, if all of the instrument clusters in all of the '04 F150's are interchangeable I don't know. It would depend on if all of the different models have all of the sensors that are required to make all of the functions work installed in them.
