Rat, very nice!! What's the height from ground to the highest point on your truck? Just curious, I am kind of limited by the height of my garage.

they are the Nitto Terra Grappler A/T.

As for clearance, I don't have that number; however, I can get into and out of my garage just fine. The radio antenna hits pretty hard, but I have about 2 to 3 inches of clearance from the cab.

DZERVIT -

Do you mind me asking how much you paid for the Daystar install and alignment? I'll be putting the Daystar on my '05 F150, but I don't want to pay too much. 4Wheel Parts wants $220 for the labor and $100 for alignment for a grand total of $440 + tax with the kit. I think that's too much, but I don't know who else I would trust to install the kit - can I take it to any old garage?

Thanks!

You can do what I did and install it yourself. Then just take it and have an alignment. 4 wheel parts is a rip off. If you ever buy anything from them find the lowest price on the net and tell them about it. They will price match. I had mine installed in about 3 hours.

I've thought about doing it myself, but I've never worked on suspension parts and didn't really want to hassle with it - BUT I don't want to get ripped off either.

Can any respectable auto shop do this work? Or should it be one that specializes in off-road? And same question abt the alignment - do I need an off-road shop to do this? Or can I have any old alignment shop do the work?

Thanks!

I have the lift on my bright red 04 F150. It cost me 130 bucks for my lift: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33585 and i paid 80 bucks for the install at a local import performance shop (shop that does turbos, intakes, tintint, remote starters, alarms etc) and then 45 bucks for a front end alignment.

So, all in all, i paid 300 bucks. Alignment is a MUST! The toe is way off after the install.

I paid $130 for the daystar, $100 for the install and $65 for the alignment. The off road shop that did my install outsourced their alignment jobs. The shop that did the alignment specialized in large trucks (i.e. moving trucks, work trucks, etc.).

jdmclemore - if your no familiar with suspension or don't have the right tools, take it to a shock/spring shop to get it done. I wanted to do it myself but didn't have a spring compressor (highly recommeded).

I had my daystar done by a local shop for $249 (overpriced IMO, but I wanted it done NOW). The price included an alignment. Overall I paid $380. More than I should have, but that's the price I paid for my lack of patience.

Bust out the 'yella pages and let your fingers do the walking. You said it best any respectable shop can do the work.

I got the 1 1/2" Autospring. Paid $125. Had a local shop install and alignment for, get this, $60. There's not much to the install and if you're paying over $100 for installation you're getting ripped.

Anybody know anything about the Top Gun Customz leveling kit?

Right now I'm thinking of doing a leveling setup with 33" tires on an 18X8-9" wheel, but don't want to go too nuts beause they can be ball breakers in NJ about lifts and big tires. Main contender is the 2.5" Daystar. I definitely like the look of rat022's setup, that's perfect for me.

I got a set of these Top Gun Customz off eBay for my father-in-law's '04 Lariat and installation was a snap. IMO the quality of these are better than the Autospring unit selling for a little more, precision laser cut (CNC?) billet. End result is identical to the Autospring and Daystar units, 1 5/8" spacer yields 2" lift.

The Verdict = 3 nanners

You're running quite the nice setup!

While going for the smaller setup now, I could definitely see a 6" lift/35" tire combo on mine down the road. That to me is the sweet spot for going big while being reasonable for the street.

Thanks for the Top Gun info.
