FX4 Front End Leveler

I just got a 04 fx4 screw seems to be a good truck but I would like to get the nose out of the dirt. I been reading about the front end leveler kit but I do not know anything about them. How hard are they to put in I mean can I do it myself and does the front end need re aligning. Also Does anybody have any problems with this alteration.

Do a search for 'daystar' or 'autospring'. You'll get a ton of info. I JUST had my daystar installed 4 days ago, it rocks. Would have done it myself but I don't have a sping compressor. Oh well, get it aligned afterwards. Some folks didn't and don't have issues, but it not worth the risk. Get it done.

I used Daystar, installed by 4-Wheel Auto Parts for around $350. It took them a while.

I am now running 33" tires on 18" wheels w/ no rubbing.

What tires/size? Also, got a decent pic of the profile of the truck?

I went with the daystar. Nice height and I kept the ride comfort.

This is why I got it aligned:

I run the Autospring 1 5/8" leveling kit. It just bolts on above the coil. It raised the front so that it is about an inch lower than the rear, and it raised it about 2 1/4". It looks awesome, and didn't change the ride at all. Check it out in my gallery!

dzervit, what are you leaning towards for wheel size/tire combo? We have the same truck.

Arrrggghhhh!!! I don't know, I'm so confused! I really like this look (not nesessarly the wheels, but the size & fit LT305/55-R20).

Details at http://www.centerlinewheels.com/phot...uck.php?id=450

While I think I'd really like some BFG TA KOs, they just don't have the sizes. Looks like the Terra Grap's are the only way to go... but either way you need aftermarket wheels... sigh.. there goes some more money!

EDIT: One thing I'm leary of with 20s is ride quality. I'm thinking I'd rather sacrafice some handling for a cushy ride with some 17/18s. Again, its pure confusion in Dzervitville!

I couldn't agree more, I have been monitoring this site and thinking about it for 3 months. I have run bfg's on my last 3 trucks and they have always been flawless. The problem is if you want to select a tire size with bfg you have to goto 17's. My brother has Nitto's on his 2003, he won't admit it but he still talks about his 2001 with bfg's more.
I am leaning towards 17" evo's with bfg 315/70/17's.

Search "Chemgod", I believe he has the 2" Revtek kit with 315/17/70 bfg's as well as others. He's running stock rims which would make the tire taller, maybe.
This my first time posting and I am too lazy to figure out how to link. Give me a day.

I have the daystar 2.5 inch leveling kit with 325/60X18's. I was initially worried about how wide the tires were, but I love them. No trimming/cutting!!!!

Nice Rat! Now I remember your post... do you have a front pic, I'd like to see how far they do stick out. Also, what's the backspacing on the wheel?

They don't stick out to far. Here is the only picture I have of the front.

And I think the back spacing was 25mm, and here is a link to the wheels I have.
