But for me...2 inches just isn't going to make my truck any more of an attraction than it is now.
I guess if the modification was approved by Ford engineering or something, it might be worth it...but I can do without it for now.

Just my opinion...

I might consider it later if I'm fully convinced that it doesn't affect any engineering aspects of the truck.------Till then I'll let you guys be the rat labs.
Someone has to take point.I have my 2" autospring to waiting for me to install. Life is too short to worry about the POSSIBILITY of problems from this lift. (This is how it should of looked, I messed up the quote thing)

I had the same problem and it has since been fixed. The top bolt was loose and was fixed in 5 minutes. I too thought it was the control arm hitting the spring, but there was no damage to the rubber coating on the spring. I haven't had any problems w/my daystars, that was a problem with the half *** install from a local shop. They should have tightened the bolt the first time.

Once again this site proves to be helpful. I had 1/2 the Daystar installed and was having the same noise. I checked the bolts and the center one was only about finger tight. I did the best I could tonight but only so much you can do in your driveway at midnight.

What's even more funny is the install instructions that come with the kit explicitly state to re-tighten those bolts after a day or so.... RTFM!!!

Everything I own ( '04 SuperDuty, '02 Vette , '89 Bronco, '04 F150 ) has been modified including all the suspensions. The F150 from the factory looks rediculous with the front nosediving. The Daystar is a temporary solution until I decide on which lift to go with. I don't regret doing it one bit. The clunk isn't being caused by the control arm hitting the coil spring tower as there is no sign of damage there to the coating on the coil spring, and as someone else commented, I hear the noise with the slightest suspension movement. Also, I did RTFM, but thanks for the advice there...! I'll re-tighten the shock bolt again and I know hte 3 coil tower nuts/bolts are tight and they have locknuts each... I didn't crank on the shock bolts too hard because it simply spins if you don't hold the top with a wrench. Maybe that's where it is...

That is where mine was loose. Drove it today and did not hear the noise like I would have before. Now just need to finish the job in the daylight.

1 1/2 turns on the locknut on the center shock bolts and no more clunking...! Hard to believe that 1 1/2 turns was the difference, but that was it. I checked all the other nuts/bolts about 250 miles after I installed the Daystar and all were tight still... Thanks for the help...

SDUN...,

I'm glad you got it straightened out. I was beginning to have second thoughts about getting mine levelled when I redeploy home.

I had the same problem in my 04 scab after installing autosprings 2" kit. It ended up being my sway bar links being worn because upon re-assembly they were spun to much.

SO which lift shoule i go with?? The 2 or 2 1/2??? I wonder if the 2 1/2 makes the truck look like the torsion bars are cranked all the way up on past models. I dont want that...I just want it to look level!!

My personal opinion is that the 2" kit is better than the 2.5". I'd still want my front end to be ever so slightly lower than the rear and the 2.5" kit - to me - sometimes looks like the butt is sagging and that is a very bad look. (a la lifted toyota tacomas)

I have seen anywhere from a 2-3 inch front end lift advertised and was wondering what brand and size lift you would recommend for a 04 f150 reg cab based on looks and how it works mechanically. I was also looking to be able to fit 33' tires on my truck with enough clearance to do some offroading.

thanks
