Rusty Bed Bolts

I have had my bed bolts replaced 2 times already, the last set ( 4 of 6 ) where installed 2 days ago and now they are rusty again. The dealer has another set in stock so I am bringing my truck back monday to have them replaced again. Anyone else seen this problem?

Your truck prolly has lotsa rust if you look around... surface corrosion is normal. I wouldn't be worrying about it... are they not supposed to rust?

Sheez, I saw on TV how they pick up the entire F150 pickup with one bolt outa the bed!. Im sure a little surface rust on the full set of Grade 8 bolts holding the tin bed on will let it fall off...lol

Wow, your dealer must love you. Whatever you do, don't get on your hands and knees and look under your truck, you might have a heart attack.

Yep I have a good dealer

I bought my truck from Mike Shad Ford at the Avenues. There service dept. is tops. They even put me in rental cars while my truck is getting worked on.. I cant say enough about how great they are... They realy care about AFTER the Sale service. All I have done with any of the problems I have had is point them out and they get it taken care of.. I think if they thought that they should not have been replaced they would have said so, but I guess they want to be sure I am 100% satified with my truck. This is my 6 Ford truck and I have to say this service dept so far has been the best.

Is that in B.F. Egypt or where? You have no known location to 99% of us.

Looks quite appropriate for this place, which is exactly why I have signatures disabled (so I can read the threads without looking at all that crap).

How many doors do you have? What color are your seats? What kind of rim do you have for your spare tire? What kind of tire dressing do you use? You got a long way to go, baby!

is it a crusty rust or just brown? you know the stainless that ford uses is a lower grade than what you see on exhuast tips, it will turn brown very quickly when exposed to the elements but will not rust any farther than that
