I hate the fake wood trim!

Anyone with me on this one? I would rather have just black trim around the stereo and the doors on my Lariat. Anyone have any suggestions? Paint to match the stereo or trade with someone who wants the fake wood?

I personally like it a lot, that's one of the reasons I got a Lariat....just my opinion.

Check ebay as there are kits avaliable to change it over to black or CF.
IMHO the woodgrain is sooo....70's. Ford must still have some old timers for interior decorator engineers.
Good thing only the Lariat has that in them, I might of had to buy a cheby..

someone on here air brushed the wood trim and now it has sort of a satin chrome look to it.

Wood, even if it is simulated has always had a warmth characteristic about it compared to the sheen of painted plastic or vinyl.
I like it. I also think the black would look good. I'm not too crazy about carbon fiber.

I guess it takes all kinds.

Sgt. Pepper....when I saw your name, it immediately made me think of the 60's as in Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (The Beatles). LOL

The plastic is cheap looking. I would like real wood veneer. I had a Q45 with a wood kit that was actually screwed on, looked rich.

I like the wood as well. If you dont like it you can always buy the lower end models as they dont have it.

To each his own, I guess.

IMHO, I love the wood design. It is what seperates the Lariat from the others. Looks classy and has a nice shiney gloss. Not like the old school Jeep Cherokees with the wood paneling on the side of the doors.

Now that's..... 70's bro.

I had to get an FX4 over a Lariat becasue of the wood tone, bling bling front bumper and it was not available in silver. Ugh.

Buy a Lincoln Mark LT. It has REAL wood trim in the cab. Oh yea, it costs $10,000 more than a Lariat.

I just wish they would have used something real like cocobolo, tulipwood, or bocote for the trim instead of the fake wood.

The wood grain is fake however so is the carbon fiber. Whats the big deal?

Ford and any manufacture looks at every way they can to cut costs on vehicles. Just like how we didn't get full plastic wheel wells.

If I hated it that bad I wouldn't have bought my Lariat, I would have loaded up an FX4 instead.
