Installed the Daystar myself

We just installed the Daystar kit this last Saturday ourselves. There are full pics in my gallery. It took about 4 hours including taking pics and the occasional whisky shot... made it a little more fun anyway...

All in all it went ok. I do have some suggestions though:

Use the set of Skyjacker instructions. It is what I used and as far as I know it is the same kit just with the Skyjacker name on it. Kudos to easterisland for putting those together.

Save some time and have some large c-clamps ready or better yet have a press. It was tough getting the larger spacer on and inside the upper coil spring housing. This step took a little over an hour and was a pain in my A$$...

Big note: Be sure and put the new bolts inside the coil spring housing before putting that larger spacer on. Getting that spacer off was an even bigger pain in my A$$. Maybe this problem had something to do with the occasional consumption.

Don't drink and put this kit on... well go ahead what the heck...

This was the first mod for me and couldn't be happier. It felt like the truck drove smoother after this kit was on. I could tell the difference right away.

I know, I know I plan on getting those bigger tires later this summer. Going to Jamaica in May to get married. Priorities!

Isn't it customery (spelling?) for the bride and groom to get a gift for each other before they get married? You could just let your Wife to be know that you'd like some rims and tires instead of a Rolex. hahaha.

Congrats on the getting Married.

Don't listen to dzervit. Marriage may not be for everyone, but I'm one happy camper (with mods on the way).

Anyways, CONGRATS on the Daystar. Looks great!!!

She wants to do the mods too. I wouldn't have it any other way. She is also graduating from law school in May so hopefully plenty of $$ on the way to do those mods.

By the way I think the truck was a good pre marriage gift...

Well my bad then. Wonder what I'm going to get for my pre marriage gift. I'm getting married in August. I'm lucky as well as my fiance doesn't complain to much about the mods I do. Just about all the time I spend doing them. Oh yeah and I always get the "Are you on that truck site again?"
hehehe

She has her wedding sites, I have my truck site.

Congrats again on the mod and the marriage.
