guys, report back in a year and tell us how the shiny chrome finish is holding up. I had a chrome style intake tube on a previous car and it was all dull and faded after a year or so of use.

I'm happy with my Airaid, no noises or CEL's!

its not chrome its polished stainless steel which should last longer than chrome. but I can see it loosing some of its shine. I am sure there is something out there to repolish it up if it dose.

I can guarantee you it will be more shiny than the AirRaid in 5 years let alone one year...

I can deal with dull stainless....

i dont see how the AF1 will make more power than the Airaid. The airaid uses a composite intake tube, and the AF1 uses a metal one. Im thinkin that metal intake tube will get hot, compared to the composite airaid one. Also Both of them are not in a enclosed box, and doesnt pull air from the fender.

Airforce One Performance FAQs:

Airforce One Performance Industries is the leader in the design and manufacturing of the only all-stainless steel fuel injection performance systems. Airforce One Performance Intakes are designed from the ground up with absolute performance, quality and longevity in mind for our customers. With over 40 years of combined aviation experience, our systems combine the use of aviation grade stainless steel polished to a mirror finish that will never rust or corrode regardless of the climate the system is exposed to.

Our hardware carries a grade 5 or higher where needed using aerospace standards. The support systems are carefully designed for proper support and vibration isolation to reduce material fatigue for long service life. Where Airforce One has evolved into the premier manufacture of today's performance intake systems is the use of our custom designed and molded Hi-Temp stabilized composite adapter boots, couplings and MAS airflow venturi adapters. These components make the installation much easier for the installer to attach the necessary breather lines, temp sensors and add that 'concourse class' appearance to the complete system. Many of our systems utilize our Venturi Adapter when coupled with our Power Stack Filter will generate additional horsepower over comparable full system replacements.

The Venturi Adapter generates a high vacuum in the filter enabling the filter to draw a higher volume of air while naturally lowering the ambient incoming air temperature by several degrees eliminating the need to put the filter 'back in a box'.

The Power Stack filters are sized to each system and carry a lifetime warranty. With this dedication to quality, our customers will find Airforce One will work as advertised, will increase fuel economy and will add that true custom appearance under the hood that they are looking to achieve. There are many intake systems and filter adapter kits available in today's market to choose from, but now there is.... Airforce One!

My understanding is that you talk to the people at Troyer when you order it and the give you three custom tunes based on what you want, Mods you already have, Tire size, Remember this is a cutom tune for your truck.

this thread should be a sticky, so ppl dont make more threads about it. Still doesnt answer the ? why the metal pipe keeps cooler than the composite material. Which is why most manufacturers went to a composite intake manifold, because it has better thermal dissapation properties, than aluminum or iron.
